Guide 4 ยท The Basics

Crops

Crops are food and training rolled into one. Feed them to fill hunger and build stats. This guide covers what crops do, the crop families, which land grows them best, and how to grow stronger ones.

What a crop does

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ It feeds

Feeding any crop to a fighter restores +250 hunger. Crops never rot, so you can stock up safely.

๐Ÿ’ช It trains

Every crop also trains stats. Each crop has a main stat it boosts the most, plus one or two smaller stats. Pick crops that match the build you want.

Match best-friend stats for a bonus

If a crop's stats are a friendly pair โ€” Strength & Toughness, Speed & Aim, or Mind & Luck โ€” it gives a little extra training. Lean into one pair to grow faster.

Favorite & disliked families

Each fighter loves one crop family and dislikes another. Feed the favorite for bonus happiness and training; skip the disliked one.

The eight crop families

Crops come in families, each with its own look.

Berries Grains Roots Greens Flowers Savory Tropicals Orchard

A few examples from the garden:

Cindara
CindaraA spicy ember pod โ€” trains Strength. A fiery snack for heavy hitters.
Hakazashi
HakazashiDark leafy greens โ€” trains Toughness. Builds sturdy, healthy fighters.
Auriko
AurikoA golden spinning fruit โ€” trains Aim. Great for sharp, accurate strikers.

Right crop, right land

Crops grow faster on land that suits them.

When you plant, the game shows how well a crop matches that farm:

SignMeaning
๐ŸŒŸ Loves itGrows the fastest.
โœ… Likes itGrows fast.
๐ŸŸข OkayGrows at a normal pace.
โš ๏ธ PickyGrows slowly, and only on certain land.
โ›” Won't growThis crop can't be planted here.

Plains grows every crop at a normal pace, which makes it a great beginner farm. Special environments grow their matching crops much faster โ€” see the Farmlands guide.

Growing & harvesting

1

Plant a seed

Plant a seed on a farm with room. It grows for about one day (faster on land it loves). You'll see a little progress bar.

2

Wait for ripe

When it's ready, the sapling becomes the real crop and the Harvest buttons light up.

3

Harvest your way

Choose Harvest Crop to collect food, or Harvest Seeds to collect seeds for replanting. You'll often get more than one!

Growing stronger crops

Crops have levels โ€” higher levels train more.

Every crop and seed has a level. Higher-level crops give more training when you feed them. Here's how to climb:

  • Retrieve seeds from a crop you own (this uses up the crop) to get seeds you can plant.
  • Each time you harvest or retrieve, there's a small lucky chance the result comes out one level higher than before.
  • Keep replanting your best seeds, and over time your crops climb to higher levels.

One catch: bigger farms can grow higher-level crops. Small farms can only handle lower levels, so upgrade your land to keep leveling up.

Retrieving seeds destroys the crop

When you pull seeds from a crop, that crop is used up โ€” you'll be asked to confirm. And clearing a growing plant early returns nothing, so let your crops finish when you can.
